DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!
Today it was reported that Ben Affleck was cast as the new Batman in the 'Man of Steel' sequel (Superman movie) that is going to be made by Warner Brothers. Ben Affleck, in addition to Spielberg, is such an amazing inspiration of mine. The director/actor/producer is now setting himself, for what I believe, is failure. How can one follow such a beloved batman (like Christian Bale) only 2 years after 'The Dark Knight Rises' release. It is like trying to go to a Beatles cover band concert 3 days after you have actually seen the Paul, John, Ringo and George on stage and in person. Or maybe it is more like seeing Coldplay play Beatles classics 3 days after? Either way there is no way it is going to be as good as the Beatles.
This move by Affleck and Warner Brothers has me more than worried for the Batman franchise and how they will pull this off. I am interested in your thoughts on the situation and what you think of Affleck and the potential for him to play the high budget franchise of Batman.
Either way I hope it doesn't have me saying, "Where's Christian, Where's Christian?"
